Fredericksburg Virginia's Custom Home Builder

Jeffrey Hall grew up in a suburban neighborhood in Westchester County, New York, approximately 50 miles north of New York City.  Excelling in art from a young age, Jeff went on in his teenage years to generate spontaneous designs and construction projects of all sorts.  One of his largest projects was the creation of two large half-pipe skateboard ramps that he used to develop his talents, express himself creatively, and as a gathering place.  This is still Jeff’s focus today: using his love of design and his artistic talents to create and build beautiful homes for his clients and build a strong community.
He began his career in the building industry in 1993, when he graduated from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, a Concentration in Construction Science, and a Minor in Business.  Upon graduating, Jeff immediately accepted a job with Pulte Homes Corporation in Fairfax, Virginia.  With Pulte, he was exposed to a diverse range of building styles, including single family homes, multiple family homes, townhouses, and condominiums, and worked throughout Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, and the City of Alexandria.  Over his 6½ year career with Pulte as a Superintendent and Project Manager, Jeff managed the construction of 223 homes, and was duly honored with awards of “Superintendent of the Year” and “Employee of the Year.”
In 1999, Jeff started his own home building company, J. Hall Homes, Inc.  He opened his business in Fredericksburg, Virginia, a halfway point between Washington, DC and Richmond to offer his clients homes in an area that was still affordable, commutable, and had a promise for growth.  He went to work designing his own line of homes and began construction with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.  Jeff entered the market with a bang, winning an unprecedented “Best in Show” Realtor’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards for four years in a row in the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association Showcase of Excellence.  Jeff quickly acquired a reputation for smart and striking designs and quality construction techniques and began to attract the attention of clientele at all levels.
In 2006, Jeff expanded his portfolio to include high performance homes, which he designed and built to meet the requirements of the ENERGY STAR FOR HOMES program.  J. Hall Homes was the first builder to bring these homes to market in the Fredericksburg Area.  In 2007, he coupled this program with the green building program EARTHCRAFT HOUSE in support of environmental sustainability.
In 2010, Jeff pushed the innovative envelope again by designing and building the regions first certified Net-Zero energy home in king George, VA, an outstanding and recognized project that continues to inspire Jeff to this day.
Jeff was honored in early 2011 by the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association with the 2010 Builder of the Year Award.
EarthCraft honored Jeff again in 2012 and 2014 with Single Family Home Builder of the Year award and EarthCraft’s Top 10 Energy Efficient Home of the Year award, respectively.  In 2017, Viridiant (formerly EarthCraft) honored Jeff with building the Single Family Project of the year, and for building three of the top ten energy efficient high performance homes in the state! Fredericksburg Virginia's Custom Home Builder
After being out of the model home show circuit for a few years, Jeff presented the community with yet another award-winning beauty in FABA’s 2016 Parade of Homes.  “The Edinburgh” at River Glen was awarded “Best in Show” in its price range ($625,000-$700,000) as well as honored with the distinguished “Realtor’s Choice Award”.
Jeff has the expertise and demonstrated experience not only to create healthy, energy efficient green and sustainable homes, but to do it cost effectively, and with a minimal carbon footprint.  Jeff continues to strive for incorporating cutting edge technology by incorporating geothermal, solar, and wind technology into the residential market.
